Our Story

Game Time Charters began from a love for the ocean, fishing, and the simple joy of being out on the water. For over 20 years, the name "Game Time" has been on every boat we’ve owned, and it’s where so many of our best memories have been made. Now, we’re excited to share those experiences with others, offering the same kind of unforgettable days we’ve enjoyed for decades.

Whether it’s a day spent relaxing around Rottnest Island or heading out for some serious game fishing in Perth or Exmouth, the goal is always the same: to create a memorable day out on the water.

How It All Began

The decision to start Game Time Charters came after years of travelling and fishing in some of the best spots around the world. But no matter where we went, there was always something special about Western Australia’s waters, especially around Rottnest. The Rottnest day trips came from a simple idea: not everyone gets to live this lifestyle, but why not give people the chance to experience it, even if just for a day?

There’s nothing like the pristine waters and laid-back vibe of Rottnest Island. The kids grew up swimming, snorkelling, fishing and exploring the amazing marine life that inhabit the island, you’ll definitely see the magic of the island for yourself

A Family Business

It’s not just me out there—this is very much a family-run business. You’ll often find my wife and daughter on deck during the Rottnest trips or sunset cruises. My sons help out on the fishing trips whenever they can, with one of them currently fitting it in around his Marine Engineering studies.

Having the family involved means there’s always a personal touch to everything we do. We’ve been doing this together for years, and now we’re excited to share it with you.

Our Boat – Game Time

The boat itself, Game Time, is a 40-foot Black Watch, custom-built in 2005 for Cairns heavy tackle fishing. Built for both comfort and performance, the vessel is fitted with the latest electronics, a top-tier sound system, and an air-conditioned saloon to keep everyone comfortable - whether you’re out for a day of fishing or just relaxing after a swim.

For the fishing enthusiasts, the setup includes:

5 x 37kg Shimano Tiagra 80WA reels on custom rods

5 x 15kg Shimano Tiagra 30LWS setups

Shimano Stella spinning gear and Saltiga spinning gear

When it comes to fishing gear, it’s all about quality. You’ll have everything you need to target species like Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, and Wahoo.

Our Values

At the core of Game Time Charters is the idea of creating lasting memories. Whether it’s the thrill of landing a big fish, or just enjoying a quiet sunset with a drink in hand, it’s about making the day special. Safety is always a priority, and we pride ourselves on offering a safe, comfortable environment for everyone onboard.

We’re also committed to sustainable fishing. About 98% of the fish we catch are tagged and released, with only a few kept at the customer’s discretion (and always within fisheries rules). It’s important to respect the waters that give us so much joy.

**Over 30 Years of Experience**

There’s been a lot of time spent on the water—30 years and counting. From skippering many boats for others, or being part of a fishing team, I’ve had the opportunity to fish in some of Australia’s biggest game fishing tournaments, as well as internationally in places like Panama, Vanuatu, and beyond. I’ve fished Exmouth for over 20 years and competed in tournaments like Gamex, the Billfish Bonanza, and Heavy Tackle. I’ve had the chance to fish in some incredible places, and there's something about the ocean that always draws me back.

But some of the best moments? Watching the family get involved. Seeing my wife catch her first Marlin or watching the kids reel in their own big fish are memories I’ll never forget. And those are the kinds of moments we want to create for others.
